Good evening friends. I pray that your day was full of joy and blessings. Let’s touch and agree to turn our hearts toward Matthew 14:28-30. In this text we find the disciples on a boat out in a rough sea without Jesus. Jesus decides to catch up to them on the water, without a boat, walking ON the water. When the disciples see him they are stunned because they have never seen such. Not only have they never seen it before, but there was never an occasion where they would think it was necessary to walk on water. Yet we find it is in this moment not only happening, it is necessary just because the Lord said so. Nowhere in the text do we find a question to Jesus or a thought questioning why Jesus was walking on the water. All we see is that he did so, as the disciples witnessed it and were amazed, he showed them that they could do the unimaginable, unbelievable, extraordinary. Which means that what appeared to be as miraculous for Christ to do, is equally possible for the disciples to do. Yeah, I would see it as you would, miraculous for someone like us to walk on water. It is often mistaken that Jesus called Peter out on the water. That is not what happened. It is Peter who asked the Lord to tell him to come. Let’s slow this down a little bit. Peter desired to do what he witnessed Jesus do. So much so that he asked him to call him out on the water. Why? I imagine that Peter knew that if the water heard Jesus to bid him come, it would get in line and obey the command also. The very atmosphere and nature itself will make adjustments and ensure that the will of the Master be done. I wish I had more time to speak to this guiding principle. My point is this. If you want to be a Water Walker you can’t wait for an invitation. If you want to be a Water Walker you have to ask the one in whose name we make every other request. Then when you get your opportunity, keep your focus on Him and Him alone. If you start looking around, you will sink. Focus on what you are doing, not what the water is doing. Not where the boat is. Not what the wind is doing. Focus all of you on the one who will enable you. Christ alone. To end this, I ask, are you a Water Walker? Will you get out of the boat and trust God to enable you to do the impossible, unimaginable, the unbelievable and the extraordinary? Praise God Water Walker!!!
