Scripture Reference: 1 Corinthians 15:58, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

“It is diligence that is supposed to be your greatest possession.” –  Sunday Adelaja. In our text, we are charged to be steadfast in our calling.  The Lord has called you to be who he has designed you to be. A worshipper. A praiser.  A testimony. An ambassador. A personification of the Kingdom. As a leader there is not only the obligation to live in your calling but to also lead others into that kind of living and daily worship. In short, discipleship. In this light, being obedient to this strong admonition brings us into a habit of godly existence. One of two great benefits.  As an athlete gains strength, and an artist gains discipline repetition and diligence create the character necessary for that godly life we seek. Christ becomes a part of us by our pursuit of him that matches his pursuit of us. Our mindset evolves in such a way that Christ is exemplified and God glorified. When we are constantly adjusting and manipulating the standards we live by, it serves to soften our impact on the world through and by the Holy Spirit. I might add, we are called to be steadfast but never forget that when we fall, God is faithful to forgive.  What we absolutely must remain steadfast in is our desire and personal drive to live in a way consistent with the work of the Lord.Second part.  When we live our lives in the manner described above, we don’t have to worry about verbally and constantly saying God wants this and God wants that.  As leaders we always have to coach and counsel members in the church. It is essential to discipleship. What is also essential is that we submit to God and his ways so that we will be effective in our servant leadership role within the body of Christ. There is an old adage that says, people will not remember what you say or did but they will always remember how you made them feel. When we affect people to the level of feelings we encourage them to emulate our behaviors and ultimately creat a kingdom culture. Can you imagine the impact of a church culture on a community for the kingdom. We must not only be steadfast, but we must always abound in the work of the Lord. That means, “to be present in large numbers or in great quantity : to be prevalent”. We are called to be big, we are called to be overwhelming and we are called to be widely practiced.  We are called to propagate kingdom principles throughout the world. Are you ready to affect change?  Are you ready to take your place among the saints noted in Heaven for your work on earth to advance the kingdom?  This is one of the most powerful scriptures we may study as we work for the Kingdom of Heaven. We are agents of change and that requires diligence without fainting. I pray that your heart be full of the knowledge of God’s promises and the joy of Jesus Christ. All as we know, there is a reward for us in that great day of judgement where we shall receive our crown and robe.
